The Harrison Ford rumor mill has been going wild since Latino Review reported on Feb. 15 that Ford is returning for "Star Wars: Episode VII" as Han Solo. Latino Review has been very accurate in the past on rumors like this, so it is a trustworthy site.
In response to this news, the L.A. Times reported that the deal is not set yet, and it might take a while, but their sources did not deny that talks were underway.
The news is huge if it turns out to be true. While the trilogy had moments of brilliance, it lacked the strong characters that made the original trilogy so memorable. With Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher easy targets for a return, Harrison Ford was always the wildcard, very finicky lately about his movie roles.
An old Harrison Ford rumor had Ford infamously asked for Han Solo to die in "The Empire Strikes Back," only to be denied, so maybe he will return for "Star Wars: Episode VII" to finally have his antihero go out in a blaze of glory.
The new movies are not supposed to follow the books, but in the extended universe, Han and Leia had three children, twins and a younger son named Anakin, after Luke and Leia's father. With all the original actors at an advanced age, it is likely that their return will signal a move to the stories of their kid's adventures in the unknown future.
When this Harrison Ford rumor becomes actual news, I'll let everyone know. Are you excited to see Han Solo returning? Let me know in the comments below.
