A Harrison Ford role that a lot of his fans might have missed was a great performance as the curmudgeonly news anchor in "Morning Glory" and it looks like he will get a chance to repeat the performance. Before Ford takes on his classic role of Han Solo once again, The Hollywood Reporter announced on March 4 that he will join Will Ferrell in "Anchorman 2."
While his actual role remains unknown, as does just about everything about the new movie, there is nothing he fits better than the cranky news anchor who can't handle the youngsters in the business. He could be to Ron Burgundy, what Ron was to Christina Applegate's newcomer in the first movie.
The big question is whether or not Ford will take part in the next alley brawl, if they indeed repeat once of the best moments of the first movie.
"Anchorman 2" has been in the works for years, with Adam McKay wanting to make it a musical at first, but the studios balked at the sequel. As time went on, "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy" grew into one of the most beloved cult comedies of the last decade.
The announced Harrison Ford role follows the signing of Kristen Wiig to the cast, joining Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner.
