Reports surfaced this week that Harrison Ford is in negotiations to return to his iconic role of Han Solo in the "Star Wars" Films. His last adventure in a galaxy far, far away was certainly a long, long time ago. "Return of the Jedi" was released in 1983 when Ford was 41 years old.
What has been little mentioned is that all of the principles from the original film have already been consulted. Entertainment Weekly reported back in October that a secret meeting had been held at the recent Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando, Fl.
During this fan convention last fall George Lucas took stars Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher out for lunch. This lunch took place before the public had any idea Lucasfilm would be bought by Disney. It was at this meeting that Lucas laid out to his actors the general outline for Episodes 7, 8, and 9.
One actor who will not be returning even in flashbacks is David Prowse. He was banned by Lucas during the filming of Star Wars Episode 3 after demanding a million dollar paycheck to portray Darth Vader for one scene.
