Harrisburg music scene this weekend (01/22 & 01/23)

Here’s what’s happening around Central Pennsylvania this weekend:

Friday January 22

The best 80’s metal band around LeadFoot is going to bring down the house at Chick’s in Hummelstown. Chick’s never has a cover for live music, and the ear-melting will begin @ 9:30 PM.

Sovern brings their anthemic, groove-laden hard rock to Fat Daddy’s in York. Modern hard rockers Tramps on 9th will start the show at 9:00.

Blues guitar god Don Johnson and the Don Johnson Project will be laying it down at the Roosevelt Tavern in York. Start time is 8:00.

Saturday January 23

Enigmatic yet spunky Booby Trap will leave their hyperbolic chambers to play Double K Tavern starting at 9:30. Since there is nothing wrong with a little shameless self-promotion, this is a show you should not miss!

Emily’s Toybox will show you how hard rock is played at the Harrisburg Hardware Bar. Showtime is 10:30. Don’t be late!

A heaping double-helping of LeadFoot this weekend, as they will be playing Fat Daddy’s in York (with special guest TORN). The madness kicks-off at 10:00.

The Don Johnson Project is also performing double duty, as they will be at The Wharf in Harrisburg starting at 8:00.

Check out the infectious blues-rock stylings of Tripp McNeely. They will be moving rumps at the Appalachin Brewing Company in Harrisburg starting at 9:00.

Everyday Heroes will leave Mechanicsburg for the confines of Tubby’s Night Club in Duncannon. Tramps on 9th (another band that seems to be working hard this weekend) will start things off. Doors open at 8:00.

Fuzz/garage/stoner rockers 1000 Earth Years and local punk phenomenon The Boregasms will blow up Rumors in Enola starting at 9:30.

New Cumberland will be the site of a complete metal meltdown, as Waysted Sylence plays Jackson’s Junction starting at 10:00. Get those devils horns in the air!

Black Mountain Jack
will turn up the “Outlaw Country” and good ol’ Southern-Fried Rock at The Nook in Halifax. Expect the Jack to start flying at 9:00.

Get up, get out and get to a local joint to celebrate all that makes local music the happening scene. Rock on!
