A unique option has been added to Atlantic City’s casino dining scene – a rodizio, loosely translated as a Brazilian steakhouse.
Now open weekends at Harrah's Resort in the location formerly occupied by the Diamond Club/Harbour Club, D’Zio brings a new dining concept to the area.
Located adjacent to The Steakhouse on the same level as Polistina’s, D’Zio offers diners unlimited quantities of roasted and grilled meats served tableside.
The all-inclusive $35 price includes a tapas salad bar with a wide array of offerings such as shrimp salad, Tabbouleh, artisan Portuguese breads, imported cheeses, a variety of vegetables and more. Dessert and beverages are extra.
The "sword service" includes a variety of meats, including Picanha (sea salt and garlic sirloin), Frango (marinated chicken legs), Linguica (Brazilian pork sausage), Costela da Porco (slow-roasted pork ribs), Corderio (lamb chops), Lombo (parmesan-crusted pork loin) and Beef Ancho (dry-rubbed ribeye).
Such side dishes as garlic mashed potatoes, crispy polenta, fried bananas and black beans, also are included with the price, and a variety of condiments for the meats and sides is available, as well.
The wine list – 90 percent of which is imported from Spain, Portugal, Brazil and other South American countries – includes offerings as inexpensive as $22 per bottle, up to $400.
In addition to the standard bar menu, D’Zio features a number of specialty cocktails – many of which are not found anywhere else in Atlantic City.
A less filling dining option in the bar area is a $7 tapas menu featuring pineapple barbecued duck, seared lamb chops, stuffed artichoke hearts with roasted garlic puree, and ham croquettes with a Guindilla (pepper) aioli. Tapas are served from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Currently, the restaurant is scheduled to be open weekends-only [Fridays and Saturdays] through September 4, plus Sunday, September 5 [the day before Labor Day].
Happy Hour is 4 to 7 p.m., and dinner is served from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays, and until 11 p.m. on Saturdays. There is live entertainment both nights from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
