It’s amazing what a new pair of boots can do for your spirit! Harley-Davidson has a brand new line of footwear for their 2013 Spring/Summer Collection, and I chose to sample a pair of “Estelle’s.” These boots are HOT! Equipped with bows, some grommets and a 3 ½ inch heel, they have the perfect combination of femininity, sexiness, and bold biker style. Having gravitated to lower heels over the years, I was just a little apprehensive about these boots when they came out of the box. I tried them on and was delightfully surprised at how comfortable they felt. I walked around for a few hours, catching glimpses of how awesome they looked in the reflection of the oven door (and every other type of “mirror” around the house), and reveled in the feeling they gave me. My husband’s eyes almost popped out of his head as he observed me strutting around with them on! I thought, oh, so this is how all those high-heeled women feel, now I get it! I felt sexy, TALL, and ready to conquer the biker world! My 12-year-old quickly brought me down to earth when, after asking him what he thought, he mumbled very UN-excitedly, “Cool,” then went about his little boy business. How could he not be as unbelievably thrilled as I was at the wonder of his 51-year-old mother modeling these beautiful boots?! Not the least bit defeated, though, I continued to show them off to whoever walked in the door. It will take some getting used to, and I may have to spend some time to practice walking in them, but I love them enough to make an exception to my usual 1-inch heel and I am determined to make myself and my husband proud when we set out on our first ride this year. I can’t wait to strut around with my Estelle’s and pretend that I’m one badass biker chick. I know I will at least feel like I am!
