On Thursday night, TNA taped an episode of Impact Wrestling live from Chicago. This taped episode will air next Thursday March 21. The big news coming out of this event was that Jeff Hardy became the #1 contender for the TNA world title, which is currently held by Bully Ray. According to a March 15 report by PWTorch.com, Hardy defeated Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle and Magnus in a four-way match to earn the title shot.
Hardy previously held the world title from October 14 until the LockDown PPV on Sunday March 10, when he lost the belt to Bully Ray. After the match, Ray would reveal he was the president of Aces & 8's. Bully Ray and his biker gang ran roughshod on Impact Wrestling this past Thursday as they destroyed most of TNA's top stars including Jeff Hardy. The group will continue their evil ways on the March 21 episode of Impact as well.
Hardy and Bully Ray are expected to feud for the next few months over the world title. The general feeling is that TNA will keep the belt on Bully Ray at least into the summer.
Another major storyline coming from the Impact tapings is a new feud between the company's two top tag-teams Bad Influence and the champions Aries & Roode. These four men have been credited with being the most entertaining and exciting wrestlers in TNA over the last few months.
At the tapings, Bad Influence came out and interfered in the tag-team title match. They helped Roode & Aries retain the belts, only to attack the tag-team champions after the match. This feud has the potential to be an instant classic. All four men are top-notch wrestlers and can create a buzz both inside and outside the ring.
