On tonight's episode of "Hardcore Pawn" at Detroit's famous American Jewelry and Loan, the shop that is never without conflict, and sibling rivalry, this episode is titled “Breakdown at Tiffany’s.” One only needs to watch one episode to see what weird things happen next. As belligerent people and strange items come into the pawn shop, there are surprises every minute, lots of gasps and a whole bunch of laughs.
As the episode begins, a woman comes into the shop wanting gold earrings. She wants to exchange them for the ones she is wearing. When Ashley only give her $40 towards the $525 earrings she wants; all Hell breaks loose. She finally leaves the shop with an escort by Byron, as she knocks down the holders of the velvet ropes and yells loud enough for the entire shop to hear her rant.
A man comes in with a baby goat. He wants to sell a Tiffany pocket watch that is 160 years old. The face of the watch states Tiffany, but the inside of the watch has no markings. They suggest that he take the watch to Tiffany in Detroit to have it authenticated; if so, they will buy the watch.
A man in a chicken suit comes into the shop eating a piece of fried chicken. After annoying Seth for quite a while, he did the chicken dance out the door.
A man with a customized 1983 T-top Pontiac Cutlass low rider comes in to make a deal. Seth gets to sit in the front seat as it bounces up and down. The man wants $12,000 and Seth starts by offering him $4,000. The best Seth will do is $7,000, but the lowest the man will go is $10,000. Sorry, no deal.
The man with the Tiffany watch comes back to thank Ashley for having him take the watch for authentication. Tiffany will not authenticate the watch, unless they own it; however, they shipped it back to him insuring it for $40,000. Now the man wants $40,000 and tells them that he can get $100,000 for it. One question is asked; if he can get $100,000, why is he asking $40,000 from them?
As he gets more belligerent, Les bets him $150,000 that he will not get more than $40,000 for the watch, the man will not take the bet because he is not sure it is real either on this episode of "Hardcore Pawn."
