If you plan on attending Lollapalooza, Riot Fest, Pitchfork, or any other music festival that’s happening in the Chicago area this summer, the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago is offering an amenity that might make your festival-going experience a little easier. Those who book a stay at the Hard Rock anytime from April 1 through November 1 have the option of adding a Festival Survival Kit, a backpack containing a dozen items, to their room reservation.
The Festival Survival Kit costs $50 and is presented upon check-in. Of the included items, perhaps the most valuable thing in the kit will help festival-goers get around town: A one-day CTA Pass good for rides on public transportation. Weather-related items in the kit include sunscreen wipes, a rain poncho and a bandana; food and hygiene items found in the backpack are Kleenex, a water bladder, hand sanitizer and a couple granola bars. A mini flashlight, a lighter and glow sticks round out the contents.
Pitchfork will be held in Chicago’s Union Park July 18-20. Headliners include Beck, Neutral Milk Hotel, Giorgio Moroder, Grimes, Tune-Yards, Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, Sharon Van Etten and many others.
Lollapalooza takes place in Chicago’s Grant Park August 1-3. The talent line-up has not yet been announced.
The Chicago edition of Riot Fest (the festival will also be held in Denver and Toronto) takes place at Humboldt Park September 12-14. The line-up has not yet been announced.
Room reservations and Festival Survival Kit orders are being taken now at the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago website.
