The challenging Hard As Nails Obstacle Mud Race is an urban version of the popular obstacle mud races that encourage participants to push their boundaries, while ensuring both safety and an amazing outdoor experience. Hard As Nails was created by Boulder’s Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides, an outdoor adventure company that has designed both epic days and team building courses for top athletes. Event sponsors include The Westin Westminster and the City of Westminster.

The Adult 5K Course on May 10th will feature 15 different obstacles designed to work every muscle in the body, including a Vertical Challenge that involves climbing 14 flights of stairs at The Westin Westminster, a Dumpster Dive, a Mud Mixer that requires participants to crawl on their bellies through a 25 foot mud obstacle, a Power Drill where participants will scale three 5-foot wooden walls, and a Wrenching River Crawl in Westminster City Park.

For the those under age 14 or younger, a youth 1K Course sponsored by the Butterfly Pavilion will be held. This course will feature six fun-filled obstacles, including a Mud Mixer and a Shivering Chute, designed to promote youth development in the sport of obstacle racing.

The event will also feature a Beer Garden of Nails, with live music, food vendors and other festivities. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a free beer or non-alcoholic beverage.

A portion of Hard As Nails’ proceeds will go to Growing Home, a community organization that is breaking the cycles of poverty by housing the homeless, feeding families and helping children to succeed.

The Hard As Nails starting line will be at The Westin Westminster. Registration for the race is at the Hard As Nails web site.
