Harbowl: 49ers will meet the Ravens in all-Harbaugh matchup for the Super Bowl

The San Francisco 49ers will face the Baltimore Ravens for Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans on Sunday, February 3rd. This is the first time in NFL history that two brothers will be opposing head coaches for a Super Bowl.

Hours after Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers defeated the Falcons, John Harbaugh guided the Ravens to beating the New England Patriots 28-13 for the AFC’s berth in the Super Bowl.

The last time these two teams (and coaches) faced each other, was in 2011 when the Ravens defeated the 49ers 16-6 on Thanksgiving. The Ravens were able to get nine sacks during their last meeting.

The 49ers are 5-0 in Super Bowls, with their last title being in Super Bowl XXIX with a 49-26 rout over the San Diego Chargers.

The 49ers also won the Lombardi Trophy in the 1981 season (Super Bowl XVI, 26-21 over Cincinnati), the 1984 season (Super Bowl XIX, 38-16 over Miami), the 1988 season (Super Bowl XXIII, 20-16 over Cincinnati) and the 1990 season (Super Bowl XXIV, 55-10 over Denver).

This is the first Super Bowl for the Baltimore Ravens since the 2000 season, where they won Super Bowl XXXV in a 34-7 blowout of the New York Giants.
