Two world-famous professional football coaches will come head-to-head on Feb. 3 when the two winning-ist NFL teams vie for the Super Bowl 2013 championship. (This year's Super Bowl will be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA.)
But this playoff will be just a little bit different from any other. You see, sports-fans, the world-famous coaches who will go to battle in this year's match-up happen to be brothers.
Super Bowl 2013: Harbaugh Brothers To Make NFL History in Game XLVII
For the first time in Super Bowl Sunday history, a pair of blood brothers will face off on the season's biggest field, with each of their big, bad NFL teams fighting the fight for them; and hopefully, winning. The Harbaugh brothers will participate in the ultimate sibling rivalry when the Baltimore Ravens play the San Francisco 49ers in two weeks, with Jim leading the 49ers and John coaching the Ravens.
The slightly elder half of the football-focused "Irish-twins", John, is 50-years-old; younger brother Jim is the baby at 49. The Harbaugh brothers didn't fall far from the football tree, by the way, with father Jack himself a one-time NCAA Championship coach. Jack Harbaugh, now 73, worked hard to groom his boys from an early age to develop a love for the sport that would someday rival his own, and he succeeded.
Watch the Super Bowl 2013 (XLVII) on CBS on Sun., Feb. 3, 2013. Live coverage begins at 6 p.m., with kick-off slated for 6:30 p.m. EST. Even if you're not into sports, Super Bowl Sunday has become sort of a national holiday, and everyone tunes in for the half-time show and often-epic commercials.
This year, pop diva Alicia Keys will perform the national anthem, and as for that half-time show, Beyonce is said to be reuniting with Destiny's Child for a one-night walk down memory lane!
