Times have certainly changed since the days when mothers would dress their daughters in frilly pink dresses and tie their pigtails with pink ribbons. The best evidence for this theory is to simply take a look at the new clothing collection from pop sensation, Gwen Stefani.
“Harajuku Mini,” designed specifically for Target, showcases Stefani’s punk-rock look in a ‘mini me’ sort of way. Ranging from dresses and skirts to shirts and sweaters, Stefani skips the sugar and goes all spice for this collection. A ruffle dress gets its edge from a leopard print. A striped T-shirt is taken from plain to ‘look at me’ with a tuxedo tie attached. Simple black pants are given a twist by adding a detachable half skirt. If you think that’s enough edge, just take a look at the rest of the collection that ranges from graphic T-shirts and sweaters to plaid jumpers.
Although Stefani has a limited variety for now, what is available is beyond adorable for little girls. Not only will they be little fashionistas, with this collection, you and your young girls can explore beyond the typical stereotypes of how girls ought to dress and help them learn some very important fashion sense early on.
