On Tuesday, March 4, the Grissom family heard the loud sound of a vehilce outside their house by the road and their 4 year old little girl asked what the noise was. Mr. Grissom went outside around 6 a.m. to put wood in the heater and there stood Lola.
"Lola has lost a lot of weight and she acts very scared right now," Dana Grissom says. "She's very hungry, she cries at night, and she doesn't want to go outside without me."
The Grissom family thinks that she probably wouldn't eat for whoever had her because she's always like that at first when she stays with other family members when they're on vacation.
The family still thinks it may have been someone who knows them who took Lola.
Please don't ever leave your dogs unattended while outside. Some dogs have been stolen right from their fenced in yards. If your dog is lost or stolen, report it right away, check your local shelters, pounds, and humane societies, let your local rescues know, post on Craigslist, Petfinder, and other similar lost dogs sites, and utilize Facebook like the Grissom family did.
There's always hope. Dogs have been reunited after months and sometimes years of being gone.
