Last week-end, the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Snake, was celebrated in both Argyle St. (dubbed as the New Chinatown) in Uptown and in the "old" Chinatown in Wentworth Ave.
The northside celebration featured a martial arts presentation, a parade of officials including a huge contingent of the consul of the People's Republic of China, tons of firecrackers, a dragon dance, and several pairs of lions marauding the street and knocking door to door to beg for money.
There were more photographers in the crowd watching the parade than the parade participants themselves.
