Christopher McDonald, 58, the actor best known for his role as Shooter McGavin in the Adam Sandler comedy "Happy Gilmore," has been arrested on DWI charges in Wilmington, North Carolina according to Wednesday, October 16 reports from TMZ.
N.C. police reports reveal that McDonald was arrested around 4:30 a.m.by a Highway patrol unit who cuffed him and escorted him to the local jail.
McDonald's blood alcohol was nearly twice the legal limit at the time of his arrest.
The former "Happy Gilmore" actor has been stying in Wilmington while shooting his currant film project "The Squeeze," and will remain in jail until a $1000 bail is posted.
Christopher McDonald also is well known for his numerous supporting roles in films such a Breakin', Grease 2, The Boys Next Door, Thelma & Louise, Grumpy Old Men, The Faculty, The Perfect Storm to name just a few.
McDonald is best known for his role as Shooter McGavin in"Happy Gilmore" which was first released back in 1997.
