Have you heard the big "scoop?" If you're in the 'moood' for a sweet treat to eat, you're in luck! According to a CBS Philly report published on April 7, a deliciously refreshing event is right around the corner and folks are ready to celebrate! Get ready to scream for ice cream, folks! April 8, 2014, is Free Cone Day and once again, participating Ben & Jerry's around the globe will be giving away free ice cream during their annual Free Cone Day celebration. Sweet!
Ben & Jerry's
Famous ice cream makers, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, have been servin' up scoops of delicious ice cream for decades. After taking a $5 correspondence course in ice-cream making, they opened their very first ice cream store in 1978 at a renovated gas station in Vermont. And the rest, as they say, is ice cream history.
Right off the bat, the talented duo wanted to find a way to thank their customers and came up with the Free Cone Day idea back in 1979. And every year since, they've been thanking hungry customers with a free scoop of their famous ice cream.
Known for their unique flavors with unique names, new flavors this year include Hazed and Confused, Cotton Candy and Salted Caramel Blondie. Yum! Over 700 shops in 26 countries will be participating in Free Cone Day 2014. Be sure to stop by your nearest Ben & Jerry's from 12 - 8:00 p.m. on April 8 to pick up your free scoop. Enjoy!
