Frankenstein
Frankenstein Friday is an annual event that takes place on the last Friday in October, just in time for Halloween. The annual event celebrates the birth of the famous fictional character. Writer and producer Ron MacCloskey, is credited for creating the holiday. This year, Frankenstein Friday takes place on October 30th, 2009.
And believe it or not, there are several yearly “holidays” that honor the popular monster, Frankenstein. Besides Frankenstein Friday, there is Frankenstein Monster Day, which is held each October 30th. National Frankenstein Day is held on October 29th. And Frankenstein Day, held on August 30th, honors famed author Mary Wollenstone Shelley, who wrote Frankenstein back in 1818.
Frankenstein Friday Ideas:
- Decorate your Halloween home with a monster-theme this year.
- Have a Frankenstein-inspired Halloween bash this year. All your guests must wear something or bring something Frankenstein-related.
- If you haven’t read the classic book, why not?
- Rent one, or two, of the Frankenstein flicks:
- The 1994 version of Frankenstein stars Kenneth Branagh.
- Young Frankenstein, a cult classic, takes a bit of a different spin on Frankenstein. This Mel Brooks film is the “scariest comedy of all time!”
- But the all-time classic Frankenstein movie from 1931 stars Boris Karloff.
- Bride of Frankenstein – Watch this classic flick at the Bob Hope Theater on Friday in Stockton, Ca.
Happy Frankenstein Friday!
