The most recent spotting of the Royal family cherishing a Royal father and son moment together was when the Toronto Relationships Examiner reported the Royal couple smitten secrets that were revealed during their recent Australian tour. Since then, the world of Royal watchers has been waited with baited breath for the next precious Royal father and son spotting of the future Kings of England. In the meantime, Kate Middleton news has been taking up much of the spotlight fielding a whirlwind of rumors that include, among others, that she is expecting twins again. Noting that some future Kings might be a little concerned about being married to one of the most photographed and talked about women in the world, one artist decided to make this Father's Day a very special one for the future Kings according to the Huffington Post Canada on June 13. The Huffington Post has reported that an artist has created a life sized chocolate version of a portrait that was taken of Prince William and Prince George during their recent Australian tour to honour them both on their first Royal Father's Day.
In the meantime, Kate Middleton has diverted any attention away from the infamous skirt flipping scandal by appearing in a nude McQueen frock at a recent Buckingham Palace function. Not only was the McQueen ensemble breathtaking enough to turn heads and make everyone forget about the aforementioned scandal all together, but it was also breathtaking enough to squash the never ending wheel of pregnancy rumors that is constantly churning around the Duchess.
It would be human for any man to feel a little insecure being married to one of the most photographed women in the world. If Prince William is ever a little nervous about that, he plays cool as a cucumber. So when it came to Father's Day, there was one artist that wanted to make sure that this future King of England would honour him in a way that gave him a little bit of the spotlight for a change.
The Huffington Post Canada reports that Toblerone commissioned artist Michelle Wibow, owner of Michelle Sugar Art, to design and create a Royal father and son portrait. The one caveat? That the portrait be constructed entirely of Toblerone bars. So Michelle went to work.
A total of 1,500 bars of Toblerone were used in the construction of the chocolate portrait. When the chocolate portrait was complete it included more than 16,000 pieces and stood 12 ft x 8 ft. Both white and milk chocolate was used in the production, as shown in the video here.
People Magazine said the artist wanted this to be a very special Father's Day for both of the Prince's and future Kings of England. According to People, the artist Michelle Wibow said,
“Everyone’s first Father’s Day is a memorable occasion and what better way to mark the nation’s favorite royal father than by creating an edible portrait of him?”
The portrait was a rendition of the one take on the most recent father son spotting during the recent Royal Australian Tour. There has not been a spotting of the Royal family together since. Since then, Prince William has been involved in a myriad of Royal duties that have included working with soccer superstar David Beckham on a wildlife protection project.
The project is called the #WhoseSideAreYouOnCampaign and is a project developed to raise public awareness in the world of social media about the "devastating effects of poaching" according to the L.A. Times. Of the project, David Beckham has said,
"It's devastating. It really is devastating. And we're in a world where our generation and the younger generation can really, really make a difference, and we really need to do it now. Are we on the side of criminals? Or are we on the side of animals? I know what side we're all on, and I'm sure you know what side you’re all on."
This will not be the first time this English celebrity pair will have collaborated. Prince William and David Beckham and Prince Harry collaborated during the 2010 World Cup, and will likely do so again at the 2014 World Cup. Both Prince Harry and Prince William are currently preparing to attend the 2014 World Cup this month.
In the meantime, Prince William's lovely wife Duchess Kate is attending to her Royal duties as well suggesting the world will have to wait to spot the Royal family together again any time soon. On one such occasion Kate turned heads while doing so when she appeared in a stunning nude Alexander McQueen frock when attending the Duke of Edinburgh's 93rd birthday at Buckingham Palace.
The gorgeous garden tea party, hosted by the Queen, was attended by all high on the list of the Royal circle according to Hello Magazine. Ducchess Kate wowed the world with her graceful attendance in the nude rose hued Alexander McQueen frock that elegantly showcased the Duchesses's perfect figure. The frock was tailored perfectly to Kate's figure in such a way that the Duchess would barely be able to hide breakfast under its elegantly structured lines, never mind a set of twins as many gossip outlets are currently suggesting.
The Alexander McQueen dress in honour of the Duke of Edinburg's birthday is not just impressive for its beauty alone. It also illustrates the Duchess is very conscious of the economy, and is not one of the Princesses that needs a new thing for every public appearance.
Many avid Royal watchers and fans of Kate Middleton style will recall the first time Kate wore this stunning Alexander McQueen number was at a service honouring the Queen herself at the 2012 Diamond Jubilee. This time around, the Duchess styled the piece by removing the satin belt, and then pairing the exquisitely tailored dress with a clutch by Russell & Bromley, a Gina Foster fascinator, and nude pumps.
Happy Father's Day! How will you be spending Father's Day?
