For any of you Corvette owners out there, having your Corvette stolen is very traumatic. But, Ken Miner had two of his most prized possessions, a 1966 Corvette convertible and a 1969 Camaro SS clone, stolen from his storage facility in northwest Arkansas July 27 or July 28.  This robbery is especially disheartening because Ken is only the second owner and has had it since 1974. It was a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette – VIN #194676S127342. Sunfire Yellow, black interior, black top. The engine is 327/350. 4 speed, front disk brakes. Car is in very good condition and was numbers matching.

The second car was a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro – VIN# 124379N707667. It was Cortez silver with black stripe, had a black interior, and was equipped with a 327/350 horse motor, an automatic with shift kit.

This story has a some what happy ending. Both cars were recovered and returned to Ken ,
On Saturday August 7, they were both recovered in two different locations in Northwest Arkansas.

Ken would like to extend a special thanks to Detective Mike Kugler and Detective Ed Williams and the entire Bella Vista police department for their successful investigation and recovery success…and the unrecognized good work they do in the silence of their offices and in the field.

While many of the details are not available at this time, the Corvette was discovered in a remote location in the woods with limited access through a farm gate and  hay field.

Ken has not been able to inspect the Corvette in detail, as the police have not processed the car. On first impression there appears to be little damage. The Camaro was recovered at a residence in Northwest Arkansas. A man thought to be about 18-22 years old was taken into custody. Police are investigating to determine if there were accomplices.

The thief tried to disguise the car by doing their own “paint.” They took off most of the trim, removed the trunk and tried to removed the dash. There is other body damage as well. Once the police process the crime scene they will check for other damage.

Ken Miner would like to thank everyone who help spread the word of the stolen cars, including Northwest Arkansas TV stations KFSM and KNWA, and the staff at Hemmings Motor News. The man arrested in connection with the thefts, 18-year-old Jesse Cole Fisher of 6188 Robin Road in Bella Vista, Arkansas, is free on a $750 bond, according to NWAOnline.com.
