Miss Scarlet in the Parlor is much more than just another art inhabited space in the Echo Park district, where creativity is a dime a dozen. With hip parties and "hole in the wall" clubs, Miss Scarlet's space brings a laid back kind of feel to the Echo Park art scene.

A relatively new gallery, opening up just last summer, the space is decked out with vintage furniture and the walls laced with mind blowing art. Along with the group showings that go on there every month or so, the gallery turns into a studio on occasion for workshops as well as book club meetings

This Saturday, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm, is the opening reception of the newest group showing at Miss Scarlet's space, "Happy Ending." The group show includes the work of Kristina Collantes, Doug Frye, Gina Kelly, Janet Kim, Melissa Moss, Vanessa Prager, Strawberry Luna and Jennifer Tong.

The opening reception will also include a reading of short stories by Alicia Adams along with a musical performance by Gordon Ware and a surprise guest. All that plus free admission and drinks!?

So come out, enjoy some art and delicious refreshments all the while showing your support for local artists!
