Joy to the world for our King has been born! Let all shout aloud with glee and have peaceful hearts. This day of Christmas is not only a day of giving gifts to our loved ones and having that expectance of receiving likewise. It not meant for the frantic shopping and relentless greed that can come from not receiving all that you wanted.
This time of year can truly bring out the ugly from many and the gluttony from most. When will this end? Perhaps never for the generations have only worsened and will continue to do so. It does not have to be this way though.
In Isaiah 9:6, Jesus’s birth was foretold: “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace”.
We forget the most important reason for why Christmas is observed as its own special day. Children are raised to equate this beautiful day to a large man dressed in red. The adults are no different. Most people view Christmas as a time for cheer for the eventual accepting of presents from all those around them. How can anyone forget what Christmas is all about?
It is simple. People care more about material possessions as the equivalence to their existence. There are individuals who believe that they are only defined by what they own rather than what is in their hearts. When will people learn? What has to happen for people to wake up?
The end is most definitely near beloved. This is not the time to lose your faith. Wake up and turn to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Use this Christmas season to awaken your mind and enlighten your heart. Loving our Lord is our only hope.
Maybe this is the year you learn the truth. This could be the year you realize how much strengthening you need. This is the time to awaken from your dark dream and turn to God. There is no way of undoing the past but we can improve for our future.
My dear beloved, do not keep yourself from knowing our Lord. Do everything you can to grow in faith and love and compassion. Jesus loves us so much as does the Father. Do not allow yourself to be on your deathbed and still not believe. Unawareness is not an excuse. Arise and open up your soul to God. Jesus Christ is our Savior and our only hope.
