Happy Children and Family Bonding at Jazz Fest

See also

You would not normally think of children when you think of a music festival, but the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival traditionally has always been family friendly. It is a great venue for parents, grandparents and children to share some quality time together. There are many activities for the children and entertainment in the Kids Tent which highlights the Children’s Village along with plenty of refreshments, foods, and goodies. But at any one of the eleven music stages you can also find the young ones enjoying and dancing to the music, and many of the older children get to see some of the musical artist live that they normally see on television or hear on the radio. There are crafts which can be done together as well.
What is so fantastic about it all is that the Jazz and Heritage Foundation makes it so affordable for children to enter the Fair Grounds to enjoy a full day of fun. Of course it pays for parents to be prepared with the little ones. Think of it as going on a camping trip, just not over night. Some of the essentials besides diapers and personal items should include, sun screen, hats, baby’s food (not available at the Fest) maybe a blanket, and an umbrella. And if you are meeting friends and family, a flag to mark your spot is one way to be found easier and to find your way back after making the needed rounds. Flags are an attraction of its’ own on the fairgrounds; the colors, the symbols, the pageantry.
The Jazz Fest is a stable event to be ready for well in advanced , because it is always on the last weekend in April through the first weekend in May. Plan, prepare, pack-up and get on down to the Jazz Fest families!
