Counting from the feast of the Immaculate Conception, September 8th is traditionally held as our mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary’s birthday. It is through Mary, the most perfect human person after Jesus, that Jesus received His humanity. Mary, alone in all of creation, was created without original sin and through the grace of the Holy Spirit remained without sin for her entire life on earth. On her death, she was immediately assumed into heaven and was crowned the Queen of Heaven over all the saints and angels.
As He was suffering on the cross, Jesus gave his mother to all of humanity. She stands at the foot of the cross, as a sorrowful mother, for all times suffering with us as she suffered with her son, Jesus. She is our co-mediatrix bringing our tears and joy, sorrows and petitions to Jesus. She intercedes on our behalf and guides us to follow the Will of God. Whenever we see the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we should also see the Sacred Heart of Jesus as Mary dedicates her life to helping us focus our attention on her divine son.
On this anniversary of her birth, renew your dedication to the most holy of mothers, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Queen of peace.
Invocation to Mary
May the Virgin Mary together with her loving child bless us.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Blessed be the Holy and Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mary of God. Holy Mother of God, Mary ever Virgin intercede for us. Amen.
