Staying happy can be such an elusive state of mind if we let it. I’ve talked to so many folks through the years who have not always reveled over their recent life accomplishments. Instead, as I’ve also done at points in my life with my health or other factors, they sometimes dwell on the one thing that has not gone so well. The stress and uncertainty of one life or work “moment” can nudge us down a slippery slope of gloom.
I suggest we need to step back emotionally and ask the questions:
What are you thinking?
How are you feeling?
What are you doing?
Our answers allow us to make better decisions and refocus on the positives…not just the mistakes or challenges.
This also lets us deal with life challenges in a more proactive way and stop spinning. Making the decision to stay genuinely happy with yourself is certainly a lot easier to maintain on this side of the equation.
How do you celebrate your accomplishments without visiting the “dark side” too often? Let me know.
Live life to the fullest!
