Hannah Giles of ACORN prostitution videos consistently refers to Barack 'Hussein' Obama

Hannah Giles has become a conservative media darling for her role in the undercover investigation of ACORN.  In the videos Giles plays the part of a prostitute seeking tax advice from various ACORN workers and volunteers.  The undercover videotapes exposed workers advising Giles and her "pimp" on how they could setup a prostitution ring and cover it up.  The actions of  the ACORN officials has caused ACORN to launch an independent invesigation and Congress has responded by cutting off ACORN's federal funding.

Recently Sean Hannity interviewed Giles about the videos.  Hannity praises Giles role in exposing ACORN and even suggested that Giles has a future with Fox News toward the end of the interview.

If Giles does end up making a career in journalism it should definitely be with Fox News.  In her previous pieces Giles has not been bashful about advocating conservative ideals.  In articles Giles wrote for Town Hall Pundit she makes clear her positions against the right of abortion and against any new taxes (real or imagined) by the Obama administration.  There is nothing inherently wrong with Giles conservative slant I would just not advise her to submit an application to MSNBC anytime soon.

However one article by Giles titled "Don't be a zombie: Question your leaders!" does do wrong by going beyond advocating conservatism in consistently using Barack Obama's middle name.  In the article Giles refers to Barack 'Hussein' Obama three times.  When referring to then-Senator Hillary Clinton and Senator John McCain in the same piece Giles curiously does not refer to their middle names.  In referring to herself Giles also never mentions her middle name.  The use of "Hussein" in this case is a clear attempt to play on the deep seeded prejudice of many people.

Does Giles use of the "Hussein" reference make ACORN somehow justified in their actions?  Of course not ACORN is just as wrong in their actions regardless of what Giles may have done.  ACORN should be investigated by an independent party and the small amount of federal funds directed to the organization should be suspended until ACORN cleans up its act.

At the same time it is important to know the source behind the information we receive.  I do not hide the fact that I advocate mostly progressive causes in my pieces though there are some exceptions to that general rule.  Giles has every right to cover ACORN or the Obama administration but we also have a right to know what side of the political debate from which she is coming.
