A fashionable crowd gathered at Georgica Restaurant on May 25, 2014 for a Memorial Day Weekend dinner and cocktail party benefitting Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. The event was hosted by DKNY. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal curated by new Executive Chef Greg Grossman, along with Chef Matthew Fisher Redington and an entirely new menu inspired by local seafood offerings. Chef Kazuo Yoshida of MYUMI prepared innovative sushi for the event.
The night featured a guest DJ set by Hannah Bronfman who got the crowd moving to classics from Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. Hannah was very proud to support this event. "I think that it's really important to support women and empower women and for women to band together and support each other. There are so many campaigns going on right now about how you need to love your body and I just think that this is really important and I am very happy that DKNY approached me and obviously Donna's a very inspiring woman." She wants you to look out for Beautified 2.0. "It's going to be launching in July and there are going to be new features, it's a very refined, elevated version of what we came to market with and we're excited to roll it out."
22-year-old singer-songwriter Lily Lane also treated guests to a live performance. Her music has been featured on ABC's smash "Pretty Little Liars." She spoke with us exclusively at the event.
What are you wearing today?
It is a custom DKNY crop top and skater skirt with rocker gladiator sandals and it's all, white which I was really nervous about, because I never wear all white ever, I usually wear black and red, but Danielle Vreeland the DKNY stylist convinced me to do it, and I love it. I feel very Hamptons.
Tell me about what you're performing tonight.
I'm performing two singles that were on my EP that were on "Pretty Little Liars," one's called "I Get High" it has an EDM remix coming out in the summer with a pretty big DJ I'm not allowed to say who yet, and "Nothin' But Trouble," which was featured heavily on "Pretty Little Liars" like five or six times.
How your singles come to be featured on that hit show?
I think they fit the mood of the show, which is weird because the show is about a killer, but they don't fit the mood like that. But they're just dark, mysterious, and sexy and I think that spoke to the music supervisor who just keeps asking me again and again to use it. I'm obviously saying yes because it's an amazing show and franchise.
Do their fans follow you now?
It's really cool and it's awesome because they connect the song with scenes in the show, and I get to think about the songs in a way I never thought about them before.
What are your summer plans?
I'm heading to LA, and I'm performing at Digitour with Fifth Harmony and then I'm headed to LA for the rest of the summer to do promo for ABC Family and "Pretty Little Liars" and writing some more music.
How excited are you to be on the cover?
I'm so excited, it was such a fun photo shoot, I'm such a big fan of The Daily Front Row.
Tell me about the outfit that you're wearing today.
I'm wearing DKNY tonight and I love it, it's a great summer color.
What are your summer plans?
I'll just be working, lots of exciting things coming up, not a lot that I can talk about yet but you guys will be seeing it soon. As much as I can I'll be trying to go out to the Hamptons my friends are out here, so I'll try to visit here as much as possible.
Where's some of your favorite places to travel?
I love tropical places, Tahiti, St. Bart's. I love traveling. I was just in the South of France and it was amazing.
How was Cannes?
It was amazing, I walked in the Amfar Red Collection show, and we raised 3.2 million dollars for the dresses in the show and the event raised a record breaking amount of 38 million dollars, so it was amazing.
After Georgica, we headed to The Animal Party, which came back for a second season with Hamptons destination, Sienna. There was a mini elephant stationed in front of the venue. Inside guests wore animal themed masks, there were ivy leaves lining the walls and some guests were spray painted with zebra stripes. The party was a lot of fun! The legendary TRAVISWILD who has shared the stage with revered performers including The Chainsmokers, Ferry Corsten, Mord Fustang, and many others was on the turntables and the evening featured a special guest DJ Set by SBND. The party will return to the Hamptons on July 4 and Labor Day. Sienna is located at 44 Three Mile Harbor Road in East Hampton.
