Hank Aaron isn't dead but he is the latest death hoax victim. On March 11, Gossip Cop debunked the rumors that the baseball legend had died after suffering a heart attack. An Atlanta Braves fan site reportedly started the rumor and tried to get "#RIPHammer" trending on Twitter. The trend didn't get a chance to pick up, as the Atlanta Braves official Twitter account set the record straight.
"#Braves fans, the rumors are not true. Hank Aaron is alive and well. All official information is tweeted from this account only. Thank you!" the account tweeted out earlier this afternoon.
Hank Aaron dead rumors aren't popular, but there hasn't been a celebrity death hoax in a while so the timing make sense. Aaron turned 79 last month but has been in fairly good health. His name doesn't usually pop up in the news for much unless he's attending an event or appearing at a baseball game.
Aaron is just one of the many celebrities who fall victim to death hoaxes each year. Morgan Freeman knows all too well about them, so Aaron is in good company.
