Fashion Week is in full swing for three days now, and that means many catwalks followed by just as many after parties. And that also means the morning-after blues, otherwise known as a hangover. No fashionista worth his or her front row ticket is gonna be seen making the walk from the curb side limo to the tents with red eyes and dragon breath. Not with the dozens of paparazzi from global media that booby trap the plaza of Lincoln Center, ready to highlight last night's sins in the blinding flash of a Speedlight. Fortunately there is a new brew on the scene to keep handy in the fridge that will replenish those nutrients that get lost in the wee hour boozing of after party mayhem. Mercy is a hangover prevention in a sweet white can, graced by a lovely blue angel. It is a caffeine-free anti-oxidant and vitamin supplement that contains a proprietary blend of nutrients that help avoid the morning-after muddle.
Apparently, with every sip of a dirty martini or swig of brew, we deplete our bodies of the powerful anti-oxidant glutathione. Hard to pronounce, but even harder to replenish when toxins from drinking take hold. Mercy delivers key nutrients needed to restore this free-radical fighter. Seven years in the making, Mercy's unique blend of amino acids, anti-oxidants and vitamins help boost the body's natural defenses and rid it of acetaldehyde, an organic chemical compound produced by oxidation of ethylene that is popularly believed to be the cause of hangovers. Acetaldehyde is also a possible carcinogen in humans. The ingredients in each serving of Mercy help the body detox, boosting its natural defenses and replenishing key nutrients lost during a night of drinking. Drinking Mercy, during, or shortly after alcohol consumption, encourages the body to produce more glutathione, a naturally occurring substance that neutralizes dangerous free radicals and helps the liver remove toxins like acetaldehyde, the unhealthy byproduct of alcohol and the main cause of hangovers and alcohol flush.
Galore Magazine got the party started Wednesday night, with a Fashion Week kick-off bash at the What Goes Around Comes Around pop-up shop on Astor Place. Since the opening of their Soho Flagship store in 1993, WGACA has been hailed as the premier destination for a vintage lifestyle. The stores feature a unique collection for both men and women of the most sought after vintage and antiquities on earth. Ranging from Victorian to top designer labels, WGACA remains a key source for the fashion elite. Galore Media, the NY based creative agency, magazine and website, launched their first pop-up shop and capsule collection in collaboration with WGACA with a night of cocktails mixed with Mercy hangover remedy and tunes spun by DJ Tennessee Thomas and DJ Jaziah. The Opening Night Launch of Fashion Week with Prince + Jacob was hosted by supermodel Andrej Pejic and Galore's Beauty Editor, Cat Marnell.
The party also marked the launch of the new Galore model blogger network on Galoremag.com. The initial bloggers for the site include: Robyn Lawley, Ashley Sky, Staz Lindez, Jennifer Akerman, and Andrej Pejic, making Galore a central destination for a behind the scenes look at top models, and a platform for models to grow their personal followings online. "So much of what we do editorially is to celebrate the personalities of models. Here is one more way we can do that by having them tell their stories directly to our audience online." says Creative Director, Prince Chenoa.
Prince and Jacob are permanent nightlife fixtures among New York's hottest clubs and venues like Le Bain and Boom Boom Room, in addition to being weekly resident DJs at one of NYC's most iconic clubs in recent years, Beatrice Inn. As DJs they've spun exclusive events for tastemakers and artists like Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones' Shine A Light New York premiere, as well as runway shows and events for major fashion brands like Diesel, Express Jeans, and Ray Ban. In 2009 the duo designed a music inspired T-shirt line with famed Rock 'n Roll photographer, Mick Rock. A few years later, Prince and Jacob launched the downtown New York based model fanzine Lovecat, featuring supermodels and stars such as Kate Moss, Chanel Iman, Alison Mosshart (The Kills) and Lana Del Rey. They are now focusing their talents as editors and creative directors on their one and only new venture, Galore Media.
