‘Hangover Part III’ poster spoofs ‘Harry Potter’

TheWrap.com reported on Wednesday, March 6, that Warner Bros. debuted the poster for the upcoming, R-rated comedy, “The Hangover Part III,” and it looks an awful lot like the poster for another cinematic franchise finale.

The first official poster for “The Hangover Part III” features Alan (Zach Galifianakis) staring down Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong) with what looks like Las Vegas in ruins in the background. The poster satirizes Harry Potter staring down Voldemort on the poster for the 2011 film, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” the conclusion to the “Harry Potter” franchise.

Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, and Ed Helms will all return for the final “Hangover” film, as will Heather Graham, Mike Epps, and Mike Tyson. Joining them will be John Goodman, Jamie Chung, and Melissa McCarthy, who is currently listed as “rumored” on IMDb.

It is not entirely certain where the third film will take place, but the crew has been spotted filming in Las Vegas. The vague synopsis reads: “This time, there's no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.”

A trailer is scheduled to be released on the Internet this Thursday, March 7. “The Hangover: Part III” will open in theaters nationwide on May 24.
