Hanging on to the edge: Man attempting patience

The conceptualize abstraction of patience is a quite difficult notion to fathom yet alone actually utilize. As Christians we learn from a young age to love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We model from our parents to pray and do our best to follow His rules. Once we become adults the game changes a bit. The hours seem shorter and the work, a lot harder. How do we, as adults, trust God at times of the unmanageable? What do we do when we know all bets are off and we are in trouble? This is a conundrum when humans find themselves lost and overly confused at the hand they were dealt.

The only thing we can due in these times is to intensify our praying and over-exert our reaching out to God. During the difficult times we typically need God more than ever, and we need to tell Him that. In time of need, man gets foolish sometimes. We must step back, take a deep breath and pray. Ask our Lord and Savior for the strength to go on. Ask that He rids us from our stress and worry over our trivial humanistic affliction.

The first step is to Step Back! Walk away from the situation. Take some time to no think about the mountain you are about to climb. Find a way to distract your mind from the horrors that may await you. Do not use this difficulty as an excuse to frantically run about without thinking.

The second step is to take a Deep Breath! Just breathe. Continue to distract your mind from the issue and relax your heart and mind. Play fetch with your dog, go play a board game with your kid, or just sit on your sofa and watch a movie.

The third and most crucial step is to Pray! Find a quiet place and just tell God your problem. Explain to Him what your worry is. Ask Him to assist you in this time of fear, worry and angst. Trust in God and know in your heart that everything will work out the way according to God’s will.

The most imperative part of all this is to be patient! God works on His own time clock. Everything He does occur in the perfect alignment; when He feels is the right time for you. Patience is something that can develop quickly or very slowly over time. Just find peace in your heart and wait. Wait for the moment when God shows you the direction. Await His help and know that it is only through God that you can achieve the impossible. What is impossible with man is possible with God!
