Well, the holiday season has come and gone, the “rest” of winter here in the Midwest will probably be a bear as always. Clothing styles will lose the festive greens, reds, gold and silvers will continue to be drab with blacks, grays, navies, browns and other dark colors to possibly hide the extra holiday pounds.
Now all there is to look forward to are the spring and summer months.
To help with the dead-of-winter blues, purchase a pick-me-up at the after-holiday department store sales. Add a little bling to your wardrobe.
Bags in shiny black patent
leather always look classy, sheik and will dress up any gray sweater dress. Women have been spotted carrying around these bags on shopping trips, to evening affairs and even just casual outings. If you don’t like to be too flashy there are different intensities of shine out there.
Purple is also a very hot color this chilly season. Purple can be found in anything from royal suede to flashy snake skin
Extra large hobos will still be in and can hold all of the most important winter accessories including another pair of shoes to wear so those clunky heavy boots don’t have to be worn around the office all day. Ones in muted metallic’s such as a duller bronze or copper are appropriate in any office or function. Glossier silver, bronze, gold and copper are a sure way to brighten up your weekly office meetings and no one will even know you have a pair of shoes in there!
As Rachel Zoe says: dont be afraid to mix metallics!
A lot of metal hardware on handbags
and purses is a guaranteed way to bring a little shine to dreary winter day. Look for chain link handles, buckles, snaps, large logos in metal-like material and other metal accoutrements to accessorize any casual or dull business attire.
These bags will not only bring someone out of a fashion depression, they can be used in a wide variety of situations or everyday use. Metal accents and patent leather will continue to be a staple in the fashion world and will make anyone feel like royalty. All could use a little bling in their lives.
All of the handbags showcased today can be found at DSW except for the first link which is from JC Penny's
