I recently toured the Mississippi Delta and unexpectedly discovered a natural product store in the middle of nowhere – Oxford, Mississippi. The brand is Sweet Cheeks Organics and they sell body products and remedies that are extremely effective and yet are made with natural products and are chemical free.
I was so impressed with the line of natural body and beauty products that I immediately bought Top to Bottom Lavender Salve at $10, a multipurpose salve that left my hands feeling wonderfully smooth. I also bought the Hunter’s Insect Repellent at $12 for an upcoming trip to Nepal and Bhutan. Besides smelling absolutely aromatic, this insect repellent is made from organic coconut oil and beeswax infused with a double potion of pure essential oils such as bay, lavender, geranium, and patchouli. It was so effective in warding off buggy insects and mosquitoes that I will be purchasing another to take with me on my upcoming trip to the Galapagos Islands where Hunter’s Insect Repellent is bound to get an even more rigorous testing.
The genius behind Sweet Cheeks is product-developer and entrepreneur Elizabeth Hiatt, a Certified Holistic Health Counselor and owner of Sweet Cheeks Organics. She uses her extensive knowledge and experience to develop natural products that are affordable yet gentle enough to use on children - hence the inspirational name Sweet Cheeks. As a mother and entrepreneur, she was concerned about the plethora of products that contain neurotoxins, endocrine response inhibitors that can cause cancer. By focusing only on organic ingredients and therapeutic-grade essential oils that have never been tested on lab animals, she has produced a line of products that are both sustainable and yet extremely effective. Hiatt is also proud that all her products are hand-made in the South.
