If the eponymously named Anthony Weiner should be elected as mayor of New York by addle-pated voters, his election could do more than signal the further decline of the culture. There could be a concrete expression instead of a signal.

His wife, Huma Abedin, is a Muslim with close family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. This does not concern Weiner, who may be a Jew by birth but clearly has no religious, ethical, moral, or sentimental ties to his heritage, which does not require or advise adultery (though in Islam it's OK on the husband's side; maybe he converted?), nor tweeting nekkid to strangers. Weiner seems not to be concerned about his heritage as an American, either, other than its power potential for him.

And his compliant wife, as former aide and personal servant to Hillary Clinton, has powerful connections. In fact, the rite of holy matrimony between Huma and the Weiner was solemnized by Bill Clinton.

If Weiner is elected, what are the chances that the proposed new building for the Park51 project, a Muslim "community center", i.e. mosque, will at last be raised in New York near the site of the 9/11 attack that took down the World Trade Center buildings?
