During this time, Thompson has directed several Shakespearan plays: A Midsummer Night's Dream, King Lear, Othello, Measure for Measure.

Of his Denver accomplishments, Thompson is responsible for developing the Women's Voices Fund, and the Colorado New Play Summit. Both establishments cater to promoting and supporting new plays.
