We think you're near Los Angeles

Hamilton Tavern offers beer, comfort food and fresh produce with your every meal

Hamilton Tavern brings a nice variety of beer and comfort food to the every growing and popular stretch on Harford Road. You walk in and are welcomed by a crowded bar with locals and hardwood floors and a pressed-tin ceiling giving a neighborhood saloon atmosphere- the type where everyone knows your name.

The menu here is small to the point in fits one just one page but every item is tempting. They also offer excellent specials and the menu changes a bit with the season as to take advantage of seasonal produce and seafood. There is even good selection of choices for vegetarians.

A great way to start off with is to try the Fried Dill Pickle Chips with zesty goat cheese sauce ($4). Thick cut pickle chips deep friend in batter. A weird thing some may think but you will become a definite a fan of it.

The Crosstown Burger ($10) with Roseda Farms beef, shredded iceberg lettuce, onion, & horseradish cheddar was a big hit. You can add sticky-spicy bacon or a fried egg for $1 (both for $2). The meat was cooked to your liking and was moist and full of flavor. The burger had a perfect blend of something sweet and spicy, which could have come from the added bacon. You may have to cut this one in half to fit it in your mouth! All Sandwiches served with House Made potato chips that are a sure crowd pleaser.

Hamilton Tavern has gone green and sustainable by raising some of their own produce on their own roof top garden.

The service was mediocre for being a busy place. If almost felt sometimes that you got a bit of a cold shoulder if you are not a regular. Our waiter was cordial for the most part from time to time he seemed to give a sense of being bothered by us and trying to hurry up. I noticed the table next to us he was very quick with their requests and made sure to stop by many times to check on them. For those of us are our table who got water he did bring a nice bottle so that we could refill but for those who got iced tea and never even mentioned a refill to therm. I also ordered a burger to go half way through our meal and after a long wait after we paid our tab I asked about it and got a very short and cold answer.

Service set aside, the food will draw you back with its flavor and fresh ingredients. They offer a Daily Happy Hour from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm and a Late Night Happy Hour from 10pm-close with $3 Select draft, $2 Abita bottles, $3 Rail drinks.
