The Animal Friends Rescue Shelter in Hamilton is hoping a big turnout at their major fundraiser of the year, scheduled for this weekend.
Some 500 people will attend the annual Bark N Purr Ball on Saturday, March 20th at Receptions in Fairfield from 6-10 p.m.
There will be a dinner with open bar, a silent auction and a live auction, split the pot, super raffles, a chinese raffle, and live music by Thunderbay Band. Master of Ceremonies are the radio DJ's Tim & George from KISS 107 FM in Cincinnati.
All proceeds benefit the shelter, which is located about 30 miles north of Cincinnati.
Organizers say past events have brought in about $40,000-money desperately needed to maintain the new, bigger facility in Hamilton. The shelter recently moved from a building in Trenton, and increased their space three-fold. But that also means bigger utility bills.
The shelter takes in about 8,000 animals a year.
