Hamilton County residents with questions about their child support cases can now access their information through a new online portal.
The new portal provides up-to-date case-specific information, such as address, employment, health insurance, payment history and financial history, with answers to frequently asked questions. Consumers can access the portal at https://childsupport.ohio.gov or www.hcjfs.org.
Hamilton County has about 90,000 child support cases. Considering each has a mother and father and at least one child, more than one third of the county’s 800,000 residents are involved in a child support case. Those consumers will no longer have to call, which should reduce time and costs while providing instant answers to common questions and issues.
“Child Support is our largest program and we are extremely happy to offer a service that makes information only a mouse click away for so many Hamilton County residents,” said Moira Weir, director of Hamilton County Job and Family Services. “The state is working on further improvements that will eventually allow consumers to make changes to their cases online.”
