As the prequel to the main Halo Trilogy, this is the next spin-off of Halo since Halo ODST. Just as the other games in the series, Halo: Reach is a first-person shooter developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. Specifically only for the Xbox 360 console, this game was released September 14, 2010.
Set in a time before the first Halo game where the human race is in war with the alien Covenant on the colony of Reach. Players play as a member of the Noble Team, which is a group of Spartan soldiers. Only Reach stands between the Covenant and Earth at this point in the Halo story.
The game itself features great and meticulous detail with graphic visuals and breath-taking terrain. New weapons and abilities are available that add to the original and familiar Halo weapons. Features that are familiar to the original Halo games such as co-op play are enhanced by four-player co-op on campaign play, splitscreen support, and online multiplayer experience (requires an Xbox Live Gold membership). With an average rating of 8-10/10 from various gaming magazines like Game Informer, Halo: Reach should prove to be an enriching experience for all players of varying veteran status.
