The next “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” Mash-Up Pack was confirmed Wednesday through the release of a teasing image. Master Chief and the rest of the “Halo” universe will be arriving sometime in the near future.

“Yes, this is happening. #MinecraftXBLA,” the Halo Waypoint Twitter account posted. Attached to the post was a single image that simply looks like the Master Chief skin from one of the previously released skin packs at first glance. However, a second look reveals details that this is a Mash-Up Pack instead.

In the picture, the skybox for “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” shows the Halo ring in the background instead of the sun or the moon. Meanwhile, Master Chief appears to be holding a blocky version of the Needler Rifle in his hand as well. You can also spot blocks computer textures in the small structure behind and to the left of Master Chief.

4J Studios also recently confirmed that its artists were working on a new Mash-Up Pack. This all adds up to a “Halo” Mash-Up Pack. Based on the scene in the image, this pack appears to be based on the opening of “Halo: Combat Evolved” when Master Chief first lands on the Halo ring after escaping from the UNSC Pillar of Autumn.

For those that don’t know, Mash-Up Packs are a combination of textures, skins, music and re-skinned user interface that revolve around other games. This includes a Themed World and the ability for players to create their own with the same look.

“Halo” was one of the top five requested Mash-Up Packs following the release of a “Mass Effect” pack that was released last summer. A pack for “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” was later released this past November. That leaves only “Borderlands”, “Call of Duty” and “Star Wars” as the remaining three most requested packs.
