Phil Spencer has further commented on the upcoming E3 2014. According to a report from Gamepur on June 4, the boss behind the Xbox division at Microsoft believes that Sony Computer Entertainment won't be threatened with what his company has to announce. He went on to praise the console manufacturer of the PS4, saying that they are great competitors who should also have a great showing at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Phil Spencer concluded his comments by saying that his team is working hard and has a good vibe for the event. He thinks that the company is once again going on the right path after being heavily criticized over the past year. At E3 2013, Microsoft announced a $499.99 price tag for the Xbox One in addition to not mentioning anything in regards to the digital rights management controversy.
Although the DRM was eventually removed from the system, the new Xbox console was outsold by a healthy amount when compared to the PS4. Microsoft has already confirmed that the Xbox One will officially be dropped to $399.99 on June 9. The company had to drop the Kinect motion-sensing camera from the standard bundle in order to achieve price parity.
One of the major games that Microsoft Studios should be showing off is "Halo 5 Guardians." The sequel was recently confirmed to come out in 2015 instead of later this year. It will be using a brand new engine made specifically just for the Xbox One and is also utilizing the cloud computation features of the next-generation system.
