'Halo 4' title update coming soon, first fixes revealed

343 Industries confirmed Thursday that the first title update for "Halo 4" is coming in February and revealed a little of what is being fixed for the Xbox 360 shooter.

The "Halo 4" title update is expected to release in the next couple of weeks according to a Halo Waypoint post from community manager Jessica Shea. She admits that the team will have more work to do fix issues and balance gameplay as it receives feedback from the player community. However, the following will for sure be tweaked when the title update is released.

  • Reduced the range of the Boltshot’s damage scaling over distance. The previous effective range for 1-hit kills was 20'-25'. The range has been reduced to 15'.
  • Fixed an issue that did not allow players to create respawn timers or disable instant respawn in custom games.
  • Fixed issues with friendly fire against vehicles. If FF is disabled, damage / EMPs from friendly sources will no longer damage vehicles that are fully controlled by your team.

That last fix listed will be welcome news to players who have grown tired of griefers disabling vehicles team-owned vehicles since they can't team kill anyone.

343 Industries will release the full list of fixes once the title update is released via Xbox LIVE.
