Halo 4 Crimson Map Pack given complimentary access to launch players

Following a glitch that briefly gave the Halo 4 Crimson Map Pack to everyone for free, 343 Industries changed its tune Wednesday and is giving limited time access to those that played the Xbox 360 shooter during launch. Yes, this means it is for the people who were able to receive the Specialization unlock codes.

343 Industries is granting "complimentary limited access" to the Crimson Map Pack through Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 4 a.m. EST. Only those that were eligible to receive early access to the six additional Specializations by playing Halo 4 prior to Nov. 20, were over the age of 18 and do not live in Europe, Africa or the Middle East.

The Crimson Map Pack was initially unavailable to download Monday for those that purchased the War Games Map Pass either individually or as part of the Halo 4 Limited Edition. Microsoft fixed the issue later in the day but also made the map pack available for everyone to download for free for a period of time.

This appears to be 343 Industries attempt to correct this issue though it is unclear if those that "purchased" the DLC for free initially will lose their access. However, we are still receiving reports from people that say they never received the Specializations unlock code. We are attempting to get an answer from 343 Industries about this.
