The "Halo 4 Infinity Challenge" ends this week and 343 Industries confirmed the first multiplayer playlist update Wednesday that will follow the conclusion of the online tournament. The first two new specialization unlocks that will be available to everyone on the Xbox 360 are also on the way.
The "Community Forge Test Playlist" will debut Monday, Jan. 21 when the "Halo 4" receives its weekly update. It will feature a variety of 4 vs. 4 gametypes on maps that the "Halo" community has built and has been marked as favorites by the developers and select community members.
Exactly what maps will be included in the "Community Forge Test Playlist" has not been revealed yet. However, 343 Industries has opened a special forum on Halo Waypoint to deal with any bugs or other issues that crop up while playing the user-created maps and gametypes.
Monday's update also finally unlocks an additional two armor Specializations after the mess that was the promotional unlocks that 343 Industries and "Halo 4" owners experienced. The first two unlocks are the Pioneer and Pathfinder Specializations.
Pioneer: Spartan optimization for deployment into uncharted, hostile territory (such as uncolonized worlds or Forerunner constructs like Requiem) for the purpose of gathering and relaying information. The Fast Track armor mod allows Spartans to gain more experiential data from each encounter, effectively ranking up more quickly during the process.
Pathfinder: Spartan optimization for deep, unconventional deployment within unknown enemy territory and with little to no assistance from command. The Gunner armor mod decreases the time of weapon overheat when occupying a vehicle weapon position, and increases Spartan speed while carrying a detached turret.
Two more Specializations will be unlocked the following Monday with he final two unlocking for everyone on Feb. 4.
