Competitive "Halo 4" gamers have been waiting for a skill ranking system for the shooter since it launched on the Xbox 360 last November. The launch of the Competitive Skill Rank system is getting closer but there is still a wait of a couple of months according to a Wednesday update from 343 Industries.
According to a post from community manager Jessica Shea, the studio is still trying to optimize the system while also integrating it with Halo Waypoint so that it can be viewed in player's profiles from anywhere.
The expected launch dates is some time in April 2013 but some of the playlists will be re-configured to accommodate the ranking system.
What we do know is that everyone will start at zero for all playlists when the Competitive Skill Rank launches and will be graded based on a scale of 1 to 50. You will have a separate skill ranking for each playlist but only the player's highest skill ranking will be displayed in their Halo Waypoint profile.
