Custom maps made their way into the "Halo 4" multiplayer via a test playlist with Monday's update. So when should fans of the Xbox 360 shooter expect to see these community created maps to appear in regular playlists? Pretty soon actually according to 343 Industries community manager Jessica "bs angel" Shea.

Shea was asked on Twitter how long it will take for the newly added community maps to show up in playlists such as SWAT. "We're tentatively planning on adding applicable maps in two weeks," Shea responded.

Despair, Garrotte, Relay, Scythe, Shutout and Simplex are the six maps that were added to Community Forge Test playlist. Part of the test is to see how these maps perform in certain 4 vs 4 gametypes but the other is to sort out any bugs that may exist. Some have already been found and reported such as the ability to hide outside one of the maps.

"Applicable maps" would be those that have gone through a hopefully thorough debugging before being released to regular playlists.
