Halloween was the backdrop for multiple-witness reports out of Missouri October 31, 2011, as hovering Bright Lights and descriptions of a disc-shape object flooded the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database, including one report that offers three video clips.
Eight reports were filed at MUFON from Missouri for October 31, 2011, including Case 33047 where a witness, a daughter-in-law and two grandsons were at a stop light and observed "pulsating and blinking multi-colored lights, as well as extremely bright, white lights" in the sky.
But the object moved closer and hovered.
"When we first saw it, it was as if it was approaching us with its bottom facing us," the reporting witness stated, "as if on a vertical orientation, and as it retreated, it turned flat (or horizontal), at times moving very slowly, then accelerating very quickly. It would completely disappear from time to time."

The witness described the object's actions.
"It at times acted as if it were playing a game with us, hiding, then appearing very close so we could see details, including a dome-like appendage on the bottom-center. Then it would speed off, eventually making a complete circle over our area and winding up hovering over the neighborhood where we had originally been headed."
The witness acknowledges there were reports that the object was manmade.
"It returned from low on the northern horizon, hovered directly over us, at times turning on its end, as before, and at other times performing all sorts of movements that seemed to defy regular laws of physics. Someone said the news was saying it was a group of seven precision-flight, small plane operators, performing a fly-by over the football stadium, but we saw this very closely and it was not a group of small planes (or large ones). It was completely circular and everything moved as one, without fail."
The sound that the object made was not recognized by the witness.
"It made very little noise - a pleasant, low, oscillating hum, that I have never heard before, nor had anyone else. Definitely not the sound of any plane or helicopter I have ever heard."
The object - described as a "sky-line ballet" - ejected a red orb, and then shot off and was not seen again.
"This sky-line ballet went on for over an hour and toward the end, the craft had turned to a horizontal position and forcefully ejected a much smaller, red, orb-like object, then shot off never to be seen by us again. The red orb hovered for many minutes, its light just pulsating and varying in intensity of frequency, then it began moving, slowly at first, then it also shot off in the same direction as the large craft and we never saw it again, either. It had no sound. We all felt very affected on many levels."
Additional Missouri sighting reports for October 31, 2011, include:
- Two bright lights that faded in Case 33050.
- Huge, circular object reported near Kansas City, MO, in Case 33033.
- Disc reported over Lee's Summit, MO, in Case 33028.
- Two bright objects that dimmed out in Case 33023.
- A semi-transparent object in a "tubular" shape that was 30 to 40 feet long with a dark band at its center and one one end in Case 33022. One photo with this report.
- Bright lights hovering with moving lights in Case 33020.
- And this case out of - of all towns - Peculiar, MO - where the object may have been over either Lee's Summit or Raymore - bright lights that hovered, moved rapidly, and appeared to descend in Case 33016.
Missouri is a current UFO ALERT 3 rating, with a high number of UFO sightings nationally. Missouri had 75 reports in October 2011 - the highest reporting state in the nation.
