Halloween is right around the corner and the pressure is on. Don’t be too scared but Halloween is the second highest grossing sales holiday, losing out only to Christmas. Top costumes hit the shelves months ago and if you are just getting around to buying and sewing now you might need a little guidance.
Movie trends are back this year and many of the costumes trends are similar to last year. Harry Potter remains a popular theme and new super heroes such as the Green Lantern and Thor have appeared. Pirates mimicking the popular Pirates of the Carribean Movie Series from Disney are also back on the shelves this year.
If your not into movies, books can also be a great place to find kids costumes. Madeline, Blues Clues, and Clifford are popular choices. Disney princesses are always available though not the warmest choices for a cool October night in New England.
Looking for something more unique? www.Etsy.com is a great place to find fairies, ballerinas and superheroes as well as some very unique costumes such as period costumes from the 1800’s , animals, and more traditional vampires, witches, and ghosts.
