Halloween is an exciting time for children and often begins with a trip to the pumpkin patch where there are pumpkins of many shapes and sizes. A favorite pumpkin can be transformed into a creative jack-o-lantern. This is a perfect time of the year to create children's games using the seasonal plastic pumpkins of various sizes. Some ideas for these pumpkin games are:
Use small plastic pumpkins (the size of a baseball) and toss and catch them in a parachute or large piece of fabric. The children can also lift and lower, swing, shake, etc. the parachute/fabric filled with pumpkins.
Combine a portable basketball hoop and medium size plastic pumpkin for a lively game of "pumpkin basketball."
Use a medium size plastic pumpkin for a toss and catch game. Add a portable net (such as volleyball or badminton) and play "volley pumpkin."
Use your imagination and create more pumpkin games by substituting plastic pumpkins for balls.
