It doesn’t get much better than Halloween in the mountains of New Hampshire. Add Roots of Creation, Space Jesus and Digital Stallion to the mix and there’s no question about where you should be this coming weekend.
On Friday night, kick off Halloween weekend at the Flying Monkey with Roots of Creation and Digital Stallion (featuring Pinecone and Fitzy, drummer from Pay the Piper.) Come support a couple of homegrown, New Hampshire acts at the second annual "Reggae-Jam Dubtronica Hybrid."
New Hampshire’s own Roots of Creation has progressively transformed from a roots reggae sound to a hybrid that now includes thumping electronic grooves with a jammy feel. The band has shared the stage with major reggae acts such as Toots and Matisyahu, and recently melted the faces off of everyone who attended the Magnetic Gathering.
Also, on Halloween night, Space Jesus and Digital Stallion will be invading the Lucky Dog.
For anyone who hasn’t seen Space Jesus, Halloween night will be a perfect time to check him out. For eight years, the Philly based DJ has been touring around the country bringing his unique sounds to the ears of listeners. His music consists of a mix between high energy electronic, trance, hip hop and heavy bass. Space Jesus' charisma keeps up with his musical style, and this will be an excellent way to cap off a ridiculous Halloween weekend in Plymouth. It may be a Monday, but Space Jesus doesn't care. He will be throwing down for sure.
Along with ROC and Space Jesus will be up and coming electronic act, Digital Stallion. Many from the Plymouth, NH area already know the music Digital Stallion through house parties, shows at the bars in Plymouth and other venues… as well as the music of Pinecone and Pay the Piper. Consider this a fusion of two distinct musical styles, melded into its own brand.
Pinecone playfully describes the Digital Stallion experience as, “House, house, house, house. House… House, house, house, house, house, house… House.” (Not sure if there’s enough house.)
Tickets for Roots of Creation/Digital Stallion are $10 for students and $15 for anyone else. As for Space Jesus/Digital Stallion, tickets are only $5, so there isn’t really much of an excuse to not go unless you are flat out lame. So get your costumes ready and head to Plymouth!
